Wow, almost a year since updates!

I am really bad about updating this thing, but oh well. It's almost the end of another school year and the kids all have a ton of things going on. End of year exams/testing/field trips/etc. Today I went with Hannah's pre-school class on a field trip to one of the local fire depts. And of course I'm made to feel like a horrible mother yet again. Most of the kids in this class are only children so their parents are there taking a million pictures with different poses at every single spot within the fire department, whereas I didn't even take the camera. I mean seriously, I've done this with my older two and this is only pre-K for Hannah, so I know that she'll do this again in kindergarten or 1st grade all over again. Maybe I'll remember to take the camera then. It's not that I don't take pictures of Hannah or that I didn't want to take pictures, I honestly forgot; didn't think about it. Another example, they are having a miniature "graduation" from pre-K with caps, gowns, etc. We got an order form to see if anyone wanted to buy the gown (the caps are free) as a souvenir or you could even borrow a gown to use for pictures. I double checked w/ the teacher that the order form was for the gown and just making sure I didn't have to pay for the cap and was reassured it was just the gown, to which I politely declined. Other parents were like "I can't believe you, it's a souvenir." Really? Seriously? This is pre-K, right? Not their high school graduation! I just don't see the need for this, I'm bad enough at not throwing away school papers, but I just don't need this clogging up my attic space! Does this make me a bad parent?

Kelly and Madison prepare for testing in the next week or two, and although I'm not really worried about their test scores, I am already trying to figure out how in the world to keep the girls entertained this summer. Kelly and Madison will be flying to Cape Cod, Mass this summer to visit their uncles for a few days, and they'll be signed up for more tennis lessons, but I'm not sure what else they want to do. We try to do a library trip once a week since they all love to read, but I'm just not sure what else to do. I've looked into some camps, but Madison says she doesn't want to go. And Kelly's not sure she wants to go by herself, so I'm not sure what to do.

Steve's company has really struggled this past year as with everyone else, but since he works in the home building area, and no one's building, they've really had some rough times, but so far he's managed to hang on to his job and hopefully things will start to pick back up as the year goes.

I'm considering going back to college this fall when Hannah starts kindergarten. I'm not the type that can just hang out at home all day without the kids, but I really want to be available for Hannah the next couple of years when she's home from school. Not sure what in the world I'd go for at this point, but taking that first step is a major hurdle for someone who has been out of high school for 17 years and out of college for almost 10 years. But wish me luck!

Anyway, that's about it for this post, and hopefully it won't be almost a year before I update again!
